Purpose of International Taijiquan Culture Festival 2012

Taijiquan, originating in Chenjiagou Village Wenxian County Henan Province, is one of the most treasured Chinese traditional culture. It was created by Chen Wangting , ninth generation ancestor of the Chen family, based on his family martial arts inheritance, his own war experiences, and his knowledge of various contemporary martial arts styles, combining the study of Yi Jing, Chinese medicine, theories of Yinyang, the five elements, Jingluo, and methods of Daoyin and Tuna. Taijiquan keeps outstanding in the field of Chinese Wushu with its unique thoughts of traditional Chinese Culture and theories of martial arts, fresh technique features, superb fighting skills and marvelous fitness functions.  Being regarded as “Culture Boxing” and “Philosophy Boxing”, it becomes a carrier for world culture exchange and a bridge to international friendship, promoting the peace of the world. Due to its unique comprehension to the universe and human lives, it is inheriting, creating and experiencing a marvelous and merry history of physical culture.

International Taijiquan Culture Festival acts as a platform which is needed to be set up for world promotion in the opinion of the humanities and science. Its main aim is to promote Chinese traditional culture, push the development of Taijqiuan internationalization, enforce the international culture exchanges, share the charms of Taijiquan culture with the world, and enhance friendly communication among the people in different countries.

Based on the festival in 2006, International Taijiquan Culture Festival 2012 is a kind of practically further exploration, means of international exchange launched again by the ISCT, and organized by Henan University together. It shows the truth that Chinese traditional Wushu culture has stepped onto a brand new stage of culture exploration and deep exchange in trend of the worldwide promotion.

This kind of exchange is not only a meeting for the Taijiquan enthusiasts both domestic and overseas, but also a kind of expression of their admiration and love for Chinese culture. Relying on hundred years of culture accumulation and the advantages of its science research of Henan University, the Festival will promote academic discussion and research between folk organizations and official colleges in the world, push together Chinese traditional culture to the world further.

Culture has no boundary, while all nations belong to the world. Undoubtedly, Taijiquan, which reflects the thoughts of Chinese traditional culture and the humanities spirits of Chinese people, has carried the historical mission to develop world culture exchanges, to be a kind of cultural power to promote world peace and human health. That is just the highest goal the Festival pursues.

Ⅰ All the participants and staff are required to show their name cards while entering the meeting sites, restaurants and hotels. No permission for transferring or lending your name card to others. If the name card is lost, you must report to the Reception Desk immediately.

Ⅱ  Participants are required to obey all the rules and regulations of the Festival, and attend the activities in time. Be sure to make no noise and shut off your phone bell.

Ⅲ Participants should finish checking in 20 minutes ahead, waiting in turn at the designed place outside the site according to the performance sequence. You should retreat from the stage as soon as your performance ends.
